The buffalo hunt raffle is for a two year old bull at the Two Medicine ranch near Glacier Park and a rifle to shoot it with. The rifle is a new Marlin 1895 .45-70 that was extensively engraved by a master engraver in Havre Montana. The engraving is of a buffalo scene on the left side of the receiver and the NRA logo on the right side. Only 200 tickets will be sold for this raffle and they are $50.00 each. The lady that won last year said she got almost 800 pounds of meat from the buffalo. The winner will also be able to keep the hide and head. It is unusual the hunter gets to keep the entire animal, most ranches and reservations require at least some of the meat and the hide be given to the local Native Americans.

The Dirty Dozen raffle is for 12 guns. Only 200 tickets will be sold for this raffle and if you win a gun your ticket will be put back in the bucket so it can be drawn again. The tickets for this raffle are also $50.00.

The guns for the Dirty Dozen are;

Remington 700 Mountain Rifle .280 Rem
Remington 700 SS .270 Win
Ruger HBVS .220 Swift
Ruger MK II 7mm Rem Mag
H&R Ultra Single Shot .25-06
Marlin Heavy Barrel Stainless .17HMR
Marlin 39A
Ruger 10/22 Heavy Barrel
Benelli Nova Pump Shotgun
Hi-Standard 1911 .45ACP
Ruger GP100 6" .357
Ruger KMK 5 1/2" .22

More info added below in a reply. Thanks, Steve

I'll send for once each, thanks.

seems like a great idea... and, frankly, if it had the prices for a non-hunter to tag along, it would be great.

Two more question
When does the hunt have to take place?
Is this a "hunt" or more of a "shoot"?

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I have been out of town working.

The hunt is at the Two Medicine Ranch hear Glacier Park. This is not a culling of a tame herd animal it is a hunt for a range animal. It is however a Bison and they are not really hard to find or hunt, but they are a large dangerous animal that can run faster than a horse and don't like to be messed with.

I am not sure of the time frame for the hunt. I think it can be scheduled anytime before the snow gets too deep or after the spring calving. I will get more info from the person that donated the hunt and post it here. I will also get a picture of the rifle and post it.

Email me scbaumbach@worldnet.att.net and I will send you the info on who to send the payment to. This is being done by the Central Montana Friends of the NRA and any payments shoudl be made directly to them. The NRA banquet will be Friday October 10th in Great Falls Montana.

Busterchops,

email with the info that I will need, I've got a couple of friends that didn't draw elk tags this year. Maybe we'll get lucky on your draw.
