I have used Danner for a lot of back backing have had good luck with them. I also have brought some Guide gear boots from the sportsmanguide. They seem to be working out well and the price is right also. I just spent aday in the 20's running yotes with hounds in my guide gear boots no trouble. When you start getting blisters you need to stop adjust your boots socks and use mole skin and other padding. Just toughing it out your feet end up like the pictures.

1) I hunt in Danners
2) Assuming you're rifle hunting, don't sweat the camo part. Heck, may backpack is blue!
3) See below.
4) Save your pennies, those binos will be more than fine.
5) I use a medium sized internal pack when spot/stalk hunting. It is mostly empty most of the time. I holds lunch, a small fanny pouch of gear, spotter, any extra layers I may need, water, small first aid, and plenty of room to hold any layers I shed. 15lbs max.

Specifically this is exactly what I'd take:

1pr Broken in boots, 2-600gram thinsulate and gortex

1pr uninsulated gortex rain pants (more so to stop wind than water)

1pr other pant.

1 uninsulated gortex jacket

1 fleece, wool, or insulated pullover or jacket to be worn under gortex shell.

1 stocking cap/face mask combo

3pr long sleeve shirts

1 expidition weight polypro shirt
1pr expidition weight polypro pants
1 set polypro long underwear

8x binos
Spotting scope

4pr SmartWool socks medium weight

gortex gloves
wool gloves

1 backpack (large enough to hold extra layers you shed or may need, spotter, misc gear, etc)

I used the Stoney Point Stix this past fall for a 302 yd shot on an antelope. I like them a lot and you dont have a bunch of stuff hanging off your rifle. Carry as usual, then shake the stix when setting up for your shot and bang. Plus they weigh next to nothing. YMMV.

The other piece of equipment (speaking of Cabela's) is their Berber wind proof camo vest. I absolutely love this vest and would not be without it!
