How about some details on how you hunt moose in Sweden and the rifles you use? Looks like the fellow with the radio was organizing a drive to push them past the hunters.
I'm used to the size of moose in Alaska and was wondering what the typical size of a moose in your area is?

We hunt some different styles in Sweden. The way our hunting do it is quiet common. We are about 20 people that are placed at stands around an area. Then two hunters with dogs move in the area and let the dogs search free. Somtimes the dogs have a so call stand on the Moose and a hunter can sneak up at close range (like you guys trees your blackbears. Mostly the animals are walking slowly with the dog after them and hopefully it goes by a hunters stand.
Most hunters have two way radios and communicate during the hunt. The radio guy on the photo is the team leader and make up the hunt tactics. Our team hunts on a 2700 acres area and are allowed to shoot 1 big and 3 calves. 10 years ago we had 13 animals on the license. te 80's were realy good and now our area is not so populated with moose anymore.
Most common guns are 6,5x55 , 308, 30-06, 9,3x57 or 62. But even 300 wm (my calibre) and 375 and others are seen more often now days.
The female moose on the photo weights abot 500-600 pounds (250-300 kgs) full weight. That ic normal in southern sweden but in the north they go much bigger.
