You might try the Margaret area around St. Helens. It's open for special tag trophy bull and has some monsters. The Toutle area is special tag only but has a very high success rate, and some very deeeep canyons!

paulsbo, yes, there are some dandy bulls in the dayton unit, but the hunting pressure is VERY intense. there are literally thousands of hunters in that area. if you had access to private land, you'd be good, but if you're a public ground hunter, i'd think about deeper, darker, more limited access areas (lots of road hunting and there are roads EVERYWHERE!). Same with Blue Creek area. no good public land, but super bulls on private ground. there are a few pay-to-trespass places in both dayton and blue creek if you're thinking that way. mhharmon@comcast.net

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.
