I think the shooter has a great line " Meade says it was clear to him that the animal wasn't charging him to get his autograph. " ID: Feds decide man killed grizzly last fall in self-defense Submitted by: New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Website: http://www.nysrpa.org There are no comments on this story Post Comments | Read Comments Federal officials have determined NOT to file any charges against a Lander man who shot a grizzly bear on Togwotee Pass last October. Officials say 65-year-old Ken Meade was acting in self defense when he killed the charging grizzly with a single shot from his rifle at a range of 23 yards. Officials estimated the bear's weight at up to 400 pounds. Meade says it was clear to him that the animal wasn't charging him to get his autograph. He says killing it was the luckiest shot of his life. | ||
