Not the right forum, I know, but...

I have a bobcat hide awaiting tanning; can anyone give me a pointer about a decent tannery in the Midwest, and how much I can expect to pay for a medium sized cat hide?

It will become a half head rug mount after tanning.

Thanks,
Todd

Sterling Fur and Tool in Sterling Ohio. They do great work. Expect around 50-75 probally. Sorry don't have the number. I sold all my furs there as a kid. [Big Grin]

Tanneries have really fallen by the wayside in the past thirty years for once they were commonplace and now they are few.

I did business with a place in St Louis years ago that did good work at low prices but I haven't been able to locate them of late.

I understand tanneries do not consider the internet profitable in their trade, therefore little is to be found on them via computer. Perhaps a taxidermist mag would provide leads. I have not tried a yellow page search of major cities yet.

Let us know what you find. I'd think $30 a good price for a bobcat tanned w/feet on.
