If tried to find a list of the NA 29, I've also seen it refered to as the NA 27 and the NA 30, but haven't had any luck. So which animals make up the list?

Animal "Slams"
Sports Afield, Oct 2004 by van den Broecke, Henry
The greatest achievements in the hunting world

Some record-keeping organizations recognize hunters who have successfully pursued all of the animals in a given category. The most sought-after of these "slams" are as follows:

Grand Slam: All 4 major varieties of North American sheep: Stone, DaIl, desert bighorn, and Rocky Mountain bighorn.

Super Slam: Any combination of 12 varieties of sheep found in the world, including bighorn, snow sheep, argali, and urial. For the purposes of the Super Slam, the following also count as "sheep" even though they are not members of the Ovis family: blue sheep, Barbary sheep, and tur.

North American 27: This group of animals is based on the categories of North American game as recognized by the Boone and Crockett club since 1971. The traditional North American 27 consists of the following animals: Stone, DaIl, desert and Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep; brown, grizzly, black, and polar bear; barren ground, Quebec-Labrador, mountain, and woodland caribou; mule, white-tailed, black-tailed, and Coues deer; Alaska-Yukon, Canada, and Shiras moose, as well as bison, muskox, puma, jaguar, pronghorn, elk, walrus, and Rocky Mountain goat.

To make things confusing, B&C has always recognized two walrus (Atlantic and Pacific) and two musk-ox (barren ground and Greenland), which actually makes 29 different animals. Hunters have only ever counted one walrus and one muskox, hence the North American 27. In its 1999 record book, B&C dropped the Greenland muskox category but added the central Canada barren ground caribou, Sitka blacktail, and Roosevelt elk, so now there are 31 categories. Even so, most hunters still refer to the "North American 27."
