joesterAoudad question...
...Has anyone eaten aoudad EWE meat? I'm thinking of including one on a Texas exotic meat hunt. I don't want to make sausage, etc. (except maybe with the trimmings). I butcher all game myself and enjoy eating it "straight up", no added pork, etc., as chops, steaks, burgers, all cooked very rare. Sooo... for those who've shot a plump, young ewe...how was it on the dinner table? Many thanks!

CrazyhorseconsultingIf handled and cooked properly, meat from an Aoudad ewe should be fine. The only negative comments I have ever heard are about mature rams.

surestrikeI've had good Aoudad and bad Aoudad. The bad stuff can be pretty gamey. The good stuff is okay but tough so plan to cook it with that in mind.

Anything over 4-5 years, sausage...
Just learn how to care for meat well after you kill it and learn how to cook and you'll be just fine
