"Creature" of McCone County Killed Wolf Mystery Believed Solved in Eastern Montana By Courtney Lowery, 11-03-06 This wolf traveled to Jordan, MT area and killed over 100 sheep. Said to be over 100 pds. If it came from the Yellowstone wolves, it traveled over 150 miles! Nice. | ||

A young wolf was tagged on the Kenai peninsula in Alaska in the spring and caught north of Fairbanks that fall. A distance of nearly five hundred miles in a few months. That's not so far. A gray wolf was shot three years ago near Trenton, Missouri by a man bowhunting deer. He believed it was a coyote until he walked up to it, and it was verified by the Conservation Dept. A shot not taken is always a miss | |||
