Well Griff might be over the top but I agree the price is annoying as it seemed to coincide with the premium bullet label. I think were the bad reputation of these bullets come from is the fact that in lighter weights they are varmint bullets and some people have used these on deer size game with predictably bad results. Like I said before my experience has only been with 150 grain 7mm bullets and they have worked well for me. I like the terminal effect of Hornady's better however and am going to give the new SST's a try.

I think that one was for me westrnhunter.

1894 knows that I have had some problems with pigeon shooters in my red deer wood.

The answer is sort of.

Just my .02 here. I used the new SST last year in 139 grains for my 7mm rem mag. I shot a big 400-pound cow elk with one shot. She was facing head on and the shot hit her about 3/4 of the way down the neck. Completely dropped her right there. The shot was around 180-200 yards.

My brother shot a huge bull elk last year as well with the same 7mm rem mag and 139 SST. Shot it right behind the front shoulders at around 350 yards. We are both eating well. [Big Grin]

Right now I am in the process of loading both the 140 BT and the 139 SST and whichever one shoots best will get the green light for this fall's hunt.
