Wich case is the .280 Remington based on. Is it the 30-06 or...? What speed can you approx get out of it with a 150 grain bullet? | ||

monz, Yes it is based on the 30-06 case. It has been called the 7mm-06 and 7mm Remington Express at different points in time. You should be able to get 2900fps. with a 150gr. pill using IMR-4831. Good Hunting, Bob | |||

monz, As Bob in TX told, the .280 rem is a parent of 30-06 case. In the US this caliber is called .280 Rem in EU 7mm Express byt same cartridge. With a 150 gr bullet you can reach a velocity over 2825 fps. | |||

I was at the range with my 280 a few hours ago. 150 grain Scirocco at an average velocity of 2965. This was using IMR 4831 and no signs of presure. | |||
