I used the 180 grain .308" in my .300 H&H last year on both deer and elk with very good results. The 150's shoot very well out of both of my .280's and should perform similarly. The Scirrocos are not at all like a BT other than the poly tip. The scirrocos are bonded and as you mentioned thay do hold up a LOT better than the ballistic tips. Though I have read that some people have had problems making the Scirrocos shoot, I had zero problems. IMHO great bullets, especially for long range. FN

Hey Siroccos are truly nice to shoot most game with. For you who don't reload and has a 7mm Rem Mag, Norma has a factory load with this nice bullet.

Frank, while my buddies and I have not had a chance to shoot any game with them, we have played with the 150 grain 7mm Scirocco's a little. My friend has a 7mmSTW that will shoot Sciroccos really well, but only when loaded right out close to the lands. I have a 7mm Weatherby that is freebored and it will not shoot that bullet worth a darn. I guess I will stick with my 160 Nosler Partitions that will shoot under an inch over and over. We hope to see what his loads will do on a hog hunt here in a couple of weeks. If I have any thing of interest I will post it here. R F

JOHAN - when did Norma turn out the scirroco load? Do they offer more factory loads than the 7 RM? Can you buy scirroco bullets in Sweden?

HEY Mads Yor are a very lucky man, YES Norma makes a option with sirocco bullet in 300WM for those who enjoy factory pluggs with 165 grain bullets. Check out their web page: www.norma.cc For reloading components i suggest that you contact Vapen och Skytte in Bure. he has barnes, swift and a lot more. The phne nr is: +46-910-780030. He has 7mm siroccos on the shelf and in 30 cal too. e-mail address is: vapenochskytte@telia.com I have been using the siroccos in my 300 wby and they worked great. I launched 180 grainers i my rifle @ 3350 fps. They hold together well after penetrating a full Moose. Contact Norma support for MRP2 data, I used it for my 300 wby and got 100 fps extra. 150 Scirrocos out of my 280 proved to frangible for my taste. I took two smallish deer last year and while they dropped hard bullet penetration was not to my liking. They are very accurate.

Frank, a while back I promised you a report on how the Swifts did on a hog hunt. I can report that the Scirocco did real well. The boar went down like he was struck by lightning. The internal damage was intensive, the entrance and exit holes pretty small, actually. The guide we were using, who has clients shoot around 400 hogs a year, immediately asked "What kind of gun are you using?". He was quite impressed. We killed four nice boars that morning, and had good bullet performance from every gun we used. We shot that first boar at nearly 300 yards with a 7mmSTW and the Swift 150 Scirocco. We shot the next one with a 7mm Rem Mag using 140 grain factory shells with Nosler Partion bullets. That pig was about 150 yards. The one I shot I hit at 200 yards with a .338 Win Mag using 200 grain Ballistic Tips. The last one was shot at about 50 yards with a 300 Weatherby using Remington factory ammo with that 178 grain boat tail bullet. All of these were one shot kills, all shots showed complete penetration except for the last one with the 300 Weatherby at 50 yards. All, in all, pretty darned good performance from all four loads. But, once again, that well seasoned guide who has seen hundreds of pigs shot was impressed with that 7 STW and those Swift bullets. R F

I did use the 30 cal 180 gr Scirocco on game last year. Penetration is excellent, expansion great, retention is better than a Nosler partition (75%+), and accuracy is superb. This was my 300 Ultra at 3265 fps MV. ------------------ "We should not say the Greeks fight like heroes. We should say that heroes fight like Greeks"... Winston Churchill
