I just made an offer on some property big enough to hunt and shoot on. It's in Area 1 so one buck and a lot of does. Turkey's for sure but it's to far north/west for bears.

Like I told Bill/Oregon the other day.

IF you like the place, others will too.

IF you want it, jump on it with all four feet.

Good luck, hope you both get what you're looking for.

Don't let it slip by if you truly interested and price right. Several years back had a chance to by some land near Rawlings, Wy. 90 acres, 9K. Knowing about water problems and such, hesitated and when I called to say Check in the mail, was gone. Jump on it.

They accepted our offer so we're scheduling inspections, etc. If everything goes well I'll be ordering suppressors and thermal gear in a couple of months.

70 acres, about 30 of it is a wooded hill area with a pond.

Looks like a nice piece! It will take a season or two to figure it out, but you’ll kill on that piece of ground. The long narrow point between the woods on both sides should have a crossing or two. Congrats!

Is that other pasture or crop land?

Looks like some farm buildings in the deal also.

Congrats.

It's all pasture and woods now. In years past part of the west field was in some kind of crop but it was only about 3 acres. I don't know what was grown.

I'm going to put some deer plots in the woods and fence that whole side off from the cattle. I'll probably let someone share crop the west side for hay and keep cattle on the fields to the south east.

There's an animal shed in the eastern field and a new (2015) metal barn behind the house. One thing that looks like another building near the house is actually the foundation of an old barn.

My daughter's at the house now, and we are leaving California on the first to join her. These are the photos that she's been sending me since we had the hay baled.

Being a farmer in your retirement Frank. Sounds pretty sweet. Looks like you've found yourself a wee slice of heaven there. Taking care of the Coyotes shouldn't be any problem for the guy who nails them at 700+ yds Big Grin tu2

With some care could be a very nice property.

Hopefully there is a nice hill for a back stop.

The house and the hayfield to the right are in a valley. The long field to the left is an uphill slope (about 60 feet higher at the County Road).
The woods on the North side of the photo are a hillside that goes up about 140 feet. The neighbors woods to the south are a hillside that goes up the 60-100 feet to the county road.

That's a nice part of the country for retirement. Rural living just a stone's throw from Lexington.
I could put you in contact with some local trappers if you want to manage the furbearers.

Thanks, I've been whacking coyotes for the last 30+ years.
