Planning a trip with the good lady for next September 2005. I reckon on a couple of days on Bourbon Street, a couple of days "on the strip", then about a week staying with some ranching friends of hers near Houston. I am hoping to get some riding and shooting in during the last week. Any tips on what I can shoot in Texas in September would be gratefully recieved. Thanks!

Hogs, javelina, coyotes, bobcats, fox, and all exotics with gun or bow. Depending on when you come in September you may also get in some dove hunting.

Dove hunting sounds good! Not so keen on exotics. I'd rather hunt a critter in its natural home. Thanks for the advice so far...

Richard, Texas has a smorgasborg of game from African exotics to deer. I am not sure when their deer season starts but there are plenty of fun options available to hunt. You would probably find some good deals on wild hogs and perhaps coyotes.
