Well, hell’s bells, got me Montana moose tag after 30 years
Pretty cool

" Until the day breaks and the nights shadows flee away " Big ivory for my pillow and 2.5% of Neanderthal DNA flowing thru my veins.
When I'm ready to go, pack a bag of gunpowder up my ass and strike a fire to my pecker, until I squeal like a boar.

You must have gotten my tag. All I got was another 4 points (moose, sheep, goat, and buffalo).

Funny how when I mentioned it several of my friends wanna go on moose hunt
I get it but I don’t want it to look like African safari with bunch of tag alongs, besides I simply hunt alone
In the end I probably piss few of them off...

Malon,

Big congrats! Perfect combo for your moose would be one partner that could call while you stayed on the rifle. Would also help if he had a strong back!!!!!!!!!!!!

Piss them off to much and you could be dealing with the dead moose all by yourself.

Make an exception. Don't piss off the help. Take as many friends as you can. Moose are big.

I've helped pack two for buddies, and you want all the help you can get if it is further than 1/4 mile.

Unless you have access to mules or horses. In that case, do what you want.

Congrats, and please let us know how the hunt goes.

Congrats, Milan!

I am 0 for 37 years on moose, sheep and goat.

So basically I suck at drawing tags! Smiler

I've tagged along on two ID DIY hunts. One was in 2007 and the other just last season. I also tagged along on an outfitted horseback hunt in Wyoming in 2016 and we're 3 for 3 on nice bulls on those hunts. It beats waiting years for a tag of your own and all the money involved when I can just tag along and help my friends for very little money, but have lots of fun! I thought a bull elk was big until I was standing over that first Shiras bull in 2007, LOL!

Congratulations and good luck. Packing out moose parts is a much easier job than most people imagine. Like most places in the lower 48, you accomplished the hardest part of the whole hunt already, getting the tag.

Thanks guys
It’ll be fun but It’ll be
Interesting as that area burned down last Fall
That thing about pissing people off is tough as I mentioned it to 10 friends and everyone wants to go so I clamped up
I think I’ll just have my girlfriend pack it out for me ...

Congratulations!

I'm glad to hear somebody gets to hunt moose in their home state.

I've been applying for moose here in CO for 25 years with no results. Maybe longer. It's been so long, I don't really remember anymore. Some years I am tempted to just quit trying, but I'm in too deep now with preference points.

My fear is, that when I finally draw that Colorado tag, I'll be too old or cripled to make the hunt. Frowner

God help us band of moose tag appliers...

Surefire I can relate.
I have applied for Colorado Moose since 1986, before preference points were given for Moose, luck of the draw only.

Doing it since 89
I just don’t think about it and keep applying, knowing I will never draw
And if it happens, it’s all good

Actually, it can be quite fun being involved with getting a moose out. Done it many, many times for myself and others. The excitement is contagious, and gives friends something to talk about for years.
