Seems I have heard there can be some decent and affordable whitetail hunting for non-residents in the eastern Montana plains. If any of you folks who actually live there have a thought on this pro or con, please feel free to PM me.
I haven't been back to Montana since we moved to Oregon from Missoula in 1956, when I was three.

Montana has a special program for people that were born there and come back to hunt.

Bill

you might pm Tasunkawitko---you know him from the snake pit--great guy, and they have lots of deer hunting in his part of Montana--he might have some leads for you.

Not sure your comment about being "affordable" was directed toward a guided hunt but if I was a non-res I would do a DIY hunt.

There is a ton of good deer hunting on public land state-wide and leftover surplus non-res licenses that can be bought over the counter if you don't want to put in for the draw.

Do not overlook the NW part of MT for quality whitetail hunting either.

Send me a PM if you would like me to be a little more specific.

Hope this helps a little.

In middle of November just hunt and you will see plenty of deer
