| another vote for the harris. it is the industry standard and used by snipers and hunters alike. a good model for hunting is the 25c. allows shooting from the seated position. good luck. |

| I have used the harris bipods quite a bit. The swivel model is the one to get. I like them for range use, and prairie dog hunting. I have only shot a couple of antelope and a coyote off a bipod. Most places I have hunted big game there is too much ground cover for a prone bipod shot, so I do not carry one. When a Prone shot presents itself I just use my elbows and a hasty sling, or if there is time I use my backpack. |

| I use to buy Harris but thier patent ran put several makers have very good copys of them. Outers for one They work just as well and are 20 dollars cheaper. I carried my bi pod elk hunting tied to my day pack only broke it out in terrin that called for it very handy. |

| I am posting this for my husband so if the brands are not correct, please forgive me.
Herb is trying to complete our nephews 700 REM in .338 Ultra Mag for our upcoming elk hunt in October and he needs to know if anyone has experience with both the "Snipepod" and the "Harris swivel" bipods?
Would you please give him your opinion on which is the best and why?
Thanks in advance, Mrs. Herb |

| Since he is after elk and hiking will probably be involved, maybe you should think about a good set of collapsable treking poles. They really help with hiking and balance, especially when you are carrying a load on uneven terrain. They can also be crossed and used as shooting sticks. Take the wrist straps and put them over the grip of the opposite pole, then cross the poles and you have a stable shooting support with the soft, wrist straps craddling the rifle. This setup is infinitely variable for the terrain you are on. I use Leki ultralite Ti's and they work very well. |
