Would anyone recommend a DIY wolf hunt?

Would there be a chance at all for a non-resident to head west and have a shot at a wolf? If so, where should I go?

Is there anyone out there that could provide a cheap wolf hunt with a reasonable chance at success?

if you have a wolf season in your state you might have a very slim chance at getting one, emphasis on very slim. wolves are probably the smartest creatures in north america (politicians included) even with a first rate outfitter, odds are against you.best success is probably in Alaska

If I recall correctly, 6 states currently have a wolf season, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. As well as all of the western provences of Canada. All of the states except Alaska have a wolf quota, so Non-resident oppertunities may be limited. More information is avaible from each state's DNR. Just click on the state that you're interested in. Smiler Also wolves have been sighted in Eastern Washington and Eastern Oregon. Frowner

Michigan does not have a season as much as we need and want one. From teh research I have done Idaho seems to be the most likely place to go for success but it still will not be easy to pull off.

Good luck.

You can put in for next years draw in WI. I saw 3 while bow hunting off my stand on public ground.

Just got the Idaho flyer in the mail. They let you buy up to 6 Wolf Tags.

That doesn't mean odds are high, but I did see wolf once on a Elk, Mule Deer, Black Bear, Wolf hunt in 2011.

Not an easy hunt if you are just after Wolf.
