In the average day afield, how many times do you face death, dismemberment, disembowelment, evisceration, unintentional castration (in full or part), etc, etc.............. While being stalked by a ravenous grizzly bear as the pack of hungry wolves circles in for the kill. What ? You haven't seen the History Channel's show 'Mountain Men' for a real life look at the perils of the outdoor life. They're gonna be needing new cast members cuz' with death stalking the current cast members with every step they take there will be a high turnover rate. Subtitles will be provided for you more 'rustic' types so the urban yuppy viewers can understand you.

Just like the rest of the reality shows, trumped up,staged, and full of drama. I watched the one episode where they chased the mtn. lion off by following it on horse back. At first some of the reality shows were a nice break from the other network crap, now to keep audiences, they make crap up. Gold Rush was ok,and I like Swamp People. But they are going the way of the rest.

I got tied of all the crap on TV, so cancelled Comcast cable and even dropped my local issue of Pravda AKA the Arizona daily "RED" Star. THat way I don't have to see that commie Kenyan shooting his lying mouth off when I watched the news. I've seen so much stuff gotten wrong on the History Channel pertaining to guns that it made me sick. Youknow? I think it was Karl marx who said, "Religion is the opiate of the masses." Today it's the damn TV. All our TV set is used for now is watch movies from our collection. Paul B.

I really like the show. It's one of the best comedy shows going. Some of the stuff they come up with is hilarious.

Some of Mt. Man is interesting, they do show some of the guys hunting for a living. However, you are correct about all the fake "drama". Also, the Mt. Man in NC can't be all THAT far from civilization, not quite the same as Alaska. Believe me when I tell you that there is nothing real about reality tv. The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends. I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

The part where they went "wolf hunting" imo was pretty silly. They had no hope of finding anything the way they went about it. And I was wondering what exactly they were going to do if they did find a wolf. I doubt in today's world they would show them shooting one. Then, they claim victory by "forcing" the wolves farther away or some such nonsense. From the looks of those guys, I wasn't so much concerned about wolf danger, as for one of them having a coronary or stroke or something. Anyway, some of these shows I like a lot. And some I think are a waste and not interesting. I'd rank them like this - Deadliest Catch (the stormy Winter sea is the real star of it, always has been) Ice Road Truckers (what's happened to "Trucker Babe"? Did she fall thru the ice??) Swamp People (the gator part has gotten old, but Troy holds the show together just by force of personality - I don't know how far he went in school, but he does have a pretty sharp wit on him - shame though about losing Mitchell Guist - the two brothers were such a hoot) Gold Rush (it's in a class by itself - "Toad" and "Goat", would you buy a used wash plant from those guys??) The remaining reality shows I can take or leave - mostly leave. Sunday night though is way cool. Ice Road Truckers first, then switch over to AMC for some REAL entertainment - and you know what's just started up again there at 9 p.m., don't you???
