22WRF, you are stirring the pot on high fence hunting. Shame on you.

No, I would not pay $4 million Zim dollars either. It is someone's pet and shooting a steroid laced, hand fed, high fenced pet is not hunting.

The title of this thread is deceiving. This has nothing to do with "hunting".

I raised him in a pen. Is anyone willing to pay me $4 mil to shoot him?

Ok, that's it, now I can die peacefully because I have seen everything. Four million dollars for a damn freak of nature. After everything I have read about trophy fee increases in Africa and the outfitters going crazy on this side of the Atlantic, maybe its time I just stick to Hunting whatever crosses my farm and that's it.

Yes I would pay $4000000, dollars for a whitetail, as long as it comes with 10000 acres of prime hunting land as a buyers incentive.

Hey guys, go to the Los Cazadores web site. You will see "freaks of nature bucks" entered as "low fence/wild deer". These deer are killed(not hunted) by guys before the regular gun season opens. They have bribed the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. into giving them special permits to kill as many bucks as they want before the gun season opens and into the last doe/spike only season into Feb. They raise these big bucks, feed them special rations and take pictures of them from birth until they are big enough to shoot and then claim they are "wild" deer. These so called "deer contest" have contributed greatly to the ruination of real hunting. You guys can call it what you want but it is not hunting. I am ashamed of where deer hunting has gone in Texas and after a lifetime of hunting have been turned off by what some people call hunting. Sorry but I had to get that off my chest....

Who is they? And who did they bribe at Parks & Wildlife? "They" get to kill as many bucks as they want? I thought you had to do a survey and the amount of buck permits depended on the population. Since you have all this "inside" information I'm sure you won't mind sharing it.

M-16, if you don't know what's happening to Texas deer hunting you have either had your head in the sand or your a part of it and therefore defending what a "lot" of these ranches are doing!
Under the MLD permits, you are basically allowed to kill as many bucks and does as you want to "manage" your herd, but I suspect you already knew that. Go read the regs.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission are the people that have been bought out by the big money ranches, but I suspect you already knew that as well.
You can defend the practice of raising pen raised bucks for release to be shot but the rest of the country and a lot of folks in Texas know the truth.

You made the statements now answer my questions.

Now why in the hell would I defend this practice when I don't agree with it.

Bullshit. A state biologist has to approve the number of buck and doe tags issued under MLD. They are based on the population census. You need to read the regs.

Does, Fawns, and Bottle Fed...

At Whitehouse Whitetails we have mastered the art of bottle feeding. In 2007 we introduced our new fawn facility. Which intails air conditoning fawn hospital, full kitchen and a medical facility.

Our bottle feed line we belive will be the first producer of the 1st ever 500" buck.

I was going to bid until I noticed the seller had no feedback. I would rather buy Limbaugh's letter. dancing

I'm surprised ebay let a hunt get on their site.

Deer in a pen is live stock. You take the hunt out of hunting hunting in pens. Its a rich mans bragging game with no hunting skills necessary in a pen.Whitetails are low on my list to pay to hunt.I want muskox ,mountain goats, bears and wild African Game.I have hunted Whitetails 38 years and love to hunt them and consider wild big bucks to be one of the smartest big game in North America. You put him in a pen feed and breed him hes no different than a cow.Hunting high fences is not what Teddy Roosevelt saved the animals and land we have to hunt in America today. If you have to hunt behind fences for everything your not a real hunter. It takes skill and pacience to hunt for free ranging big bucks.

Jeff Sullivan:

Since it's not a "hunting" thread anyway (as you rightly noted) I'll say that your great photo reminded this New Yorker of something that happened many years ago -but never forgotten. I was in Laramie, Wyoming and a couple of locals in the bar/restaurant (Hotel Connor, a great place) asked if I was from New York. I pleaded guilty. They sprang on me a news photo of a New York City tabloid, (the Daily News) headline showing this magnificent looking bull. As nearly as I remember, the headline said something like: "Steer wins in show". ( I bought drinks around in order to be allowed to stay in Laramie awhile) Smiler
