Sounds like she had plenty of time to have her firearm out but choose not to.

She was trying to corner it after it already attacked some one.

So many people have been feed propaganda on how to deal with wild animals.

Should have been shot and killed at the earliest opportunity.

It is Springtime in the Rockies!

Probably a young cat that was looking for it's own territory.
It appears that neither the female officer nor the Mail reporter was well informed on how to handle a mountain lion in the city.

That's part of the problem with the declining elk/deer herds in Colorado. Too many predators. At least this one won't have an effect on the elk.
