Yep, they will be in a tree and that means branches! It can be done, I would practice as you suggest, being accurate aiming upwards. BTW- I have good lions in Idaho and Nevada.

Ann, You know I like going to and hunting new places! This could be the perfect reason to go to Nevada. No big rush, but when you got time, send me some details.

Thanks for the link. I like the sight marks on the back of the bow. Would you recommend that for someone like me? Someone who has shot a compound competetive, but is just starting with a recurve.

The following thread shows the practice range at my house. It might give you some ideas for when you practice with your takedown recurve. http://www.accuratereloading.com/ubbthre...p;page=2#675213 The following thread is a little confusing because of the argument but you should be able to understand the correct way to compensate for shooting up & down from level. http://www.accuratereloading.com/ubbthre...p;page=1#805350

Shot are very close, but they are up with branches being a problem. I've got video of my Nephew taking a P&Y one with his bow. It jumped out of the tree when hit with the arrow and scared the hell out of everyone.
