My indiana archery buck 2010

AB Joint OutfittersMy indiana archery buck 2010
After passing up 8 different small to medium bucks, and one pretty nice one, in 2.5 days of hunting, this brute came in bird-dogging a hot doe at 8:20am this morning. I heard him grunting on her trail before I ever saw them. It was the doe in the lead, followed by the brute, who was followed by a 2.5yo ten point that in another two years will be a very nice buck. As they went through my opening at 35yards the little guy came up alongside the bigger buck and blocked me having a clear shot. He shot the little guy a look and the younger buck dropped back again as they approached a clearing 54 yards out. The big buck stopped facing dead away from me and I came to full draw with the bowtech. He took a step to his left and gave me a sharp angled quartering away stationary shot. I steadied my 50yard pin just a touch high and between his last rib and his hip and touched the trigger on the release.
The bowtech buried the arrow almost all the way to the fletching and the Rage 2 blade really did its job as well.
The buck went 86yards and laid down like he had not a care in the world...and that's where he stayed! 14pts.. 270lbs. My largest to date.
P.S. Just for reference in the photos I am 6'1" 225lbs

Hot CoreCongratulations on a real WHOPPER and an amazing Bow shot!
Looks like the corn grey pretty well in Indiana after all. I thought they were getting more rain than we were, but the lower part of Indiana is in a severe drought condition.

-plus a youngish 10- point competing with this brute for your Rage broadhead ?!?!
I'd say you have a honey hole of a huntin' spot in Hoosier Country!

AB Joint OutfittersThank you very much one and all! I have 2 more days of hunting here to try and get some more does for the freezer...but I have a permanent grin on my face over this buck. All the long range practice really came in handy!

Diffidently not a tag in his ear! He is 100% free range, low fence o-natural goodness!

I too am a huge fan of the non-typical junk he's got. I am going to do the antler mount so that it is turned to his right showing off the left side with all its character!

AB Joint OutfittersThe double throat patch is one of the reasons I really wish that I could have gotten him shoulder mounted! Oh well, the photos by the rack will have to tell the story.

Amazing! Enjoy being young while you can. That situation would have had my bones creaking and me fidgety very quickly. Just need a bit more comfort in the stand(tree or ground) as I age.
Congratulations again!
