I have hunted grizzly (and musk ox) by snow machine. They are used as transportation to cover lots of country and get you into areas to glass. The stalk should still be on foot. In practice, the use of the snow machine should be similar to the way a horse would be used on a western hunt. It is legal as long as it is not used to harass or herd the game. As far as ethics is concerned, I think that is an individual thing. Some think using modern technology like a rangefinder is unethical. I know one elderly hunter that thinks a rifle scope is wrong. Some think hunting a fenced property (even if its 100,000+ acres) is unethical. Some things a hunter must decide for himself. | |||

We offer a very successful spring brown bear hunt using snowmachines out of a lodge. As previously stated the machines are used as horses would be in the western US. The final stalk may be easy of hard depending on the snow conditions. Mark MARK H.
