Oh well, I guess it depends on your point of view. Personally I would much prefer to be sitting behind the desk rather than stretched out on the floor with my cheeks flapping in the wind.
Truth be told, both bears and homo sapiens, although omnivorous, are borne hunters. Try as we might we simply can't stay away from it. I read somewhere recently that out of the 80 or so odd billion people that have lived since we first were homo sapiens, only about 10 % were not hunter gatherer by occupation. Now try to talk a cat out of it's interest in a canary in a cage and see what his answer is. He can't quit any more than I can. By the way human overpopulation seems to be causing lots of problems. Maybe we should consider stocking about a thousand or so grizzly in Washington DC. If it didn't cure some of our ills there it would at least shake things up. Good hunting. "D"

I love it. There is a similar one from the Calvin and Hobbes strip about 10 years ago, where a few deer sneak into an office and shoot a big fat guy while he was walking back to his desk with a donut and coffee. One of the other deer congratulated the shooter, and quipped that it would make a great picture. I laughed my butt off.
One of my personal philosophies is that if you can't laugh at your own expense, then you probably shouldn't laugh at anyone else's. Nothing wrong with having a little fun poked at hunters. You have to admit that the "thin the population to keep them from starving to death" argument gets worn a little thin by hunters that don't even really understand what they are saying.

..this picture depicts a "personal trophy" for the hunter behind the desk. In viewing the specimen, I consider the hunter took part in some sort of a "culling operation". This obviously was an older specimen that wasn't worth mounting (probably had short horn) Sparkman375
I think it's funny too! If you can't lighten up and laugh at yourself, what's the point?
It is interesting that the cartoonist has put the bears in clothes, in a human setting. Sort of a "Planet of The Apes" thing.
We ARE fortunate to be at the top of the pyramid. I don't view it as good or bad, it just is. When someone laments that fact, he might as well be upset that it is rainy, or that there is salt in the sea. It just IS.

In a similar vein, I once saw a cartoon that had a man and a woman in a restaurant, the woman looking all teary-eyed at a tank with lobsters in it, and the husband saying "Don't feel so bad honey, they wouldn't think a thing about eating YOU".
