I see them advertise on Craig's list all the time.

Unless they are priced well they hang around for a long time.

Check with one of the major outdoor sporting goods retailers, Cabela's/Bass Pro/Gander Mountain.

Even the rocks don't last forever.

Depending on where you live, there are outdoor auctions around the country. Regardless of where you live, the auctions, and outdoors venues like Cabela's only give you a fraction of the value of a mount, think 30-40%. It's not ideal, but you can recoup some of your money.

I know the head of one of the county's largest, high quality taxidermy outfits. He told me, usually the best you might expect is to recoup the cost of the taxidermy work. The exceptions being very large specimens and some of the less common species. For example 30 inch mule deer, mountain sheep especially over 40 inches, the big cats, 60 inch Kudu, 65-70 inch moose, 170 whitetail, etc.
