I am interested in a Elk (representative) and bison meat hut in the lower 48. I have read some other posts and most recomendations have been for canada ($$$$) or drawing.

In addition to Petersen Trophy Hunting are there any other outfits offer what I am looking for?

Thanks,

Jim

A little more information would be helpful.

Elk hunt:
What's you budget? An elk hunt can go from $1000 to $20,000+
"Representative" implies a bull but would a cow elk do? (Those bones on the top an elk's head don't come cheap.)
What's you physical condition? "Elk hunting" can mean anything from shooting from a truck to backpacking at 11,000 feet.
I can recommend Kiowa Hunting Services in New Mexico (575) 445-9330 or www.kiowahunting.com

Bison:
You mention "meat hunt." There are lots of options available. You're probably looking at a high fence hunt, nothing wrong with that. What sort of hunting experience are you looking for? You can find a 'hunt' where you just shoot the bison in a pasture or you can camp out in a teepee and hunt with horses and wagons. Wild (non-fenced) bison can be found in Utah and Wyoming but it's hard to draw the tag.

What I am looking for is someplace that I can go and hunt both bison and elk on the same hunt.

I am looking to spend 7500 to 9K for the hunt.

I am not looking for a monster elk

I am not looking for a horseback hunt.

not in the best shape but will hike.

My perception on the internet is most bison are high fenced. I am not sure if I want that for ELK but I guess I would consider it if there was some acreage involved.

I could go to a place here in Ohio and shoot both species but I want to go back out west.

I have hunted ELk unsuccesfully in the past a couple of times in Colorado.
