www.legacysports.com is importing the rifle. It is made by Puma. I looks like a winchester though. Does anyone know anything about this rifle, like maybe the durability of it?

MOA, We have had a discussion about this rifle. Nearly 99% of people thought stay AWAY from this gun. It is just a 45/70 lever gun which accepts .454 rounds. But pressure for .454 Casull over 50000 PSI is too much for this lever action rifle. I say one more, wait...wait...wait.

BER007 I think you mean it's a 45 colt modified to accept the casull. The 45-70 is to long to chamber in a '92. As to strength, the '92 was a strong action. Is it that strong? Don't think I want to find out.

John Y Cannuck, Yes I mean the .45 Colt, but I have seen some reports which mean that this M92 isn't strong enough to shoot .454 casull rounds. very interresting articles about the Puma. I think the idea to put big bore cartridges like .454 casull, .475 Linebaugh, .50 AE or .500 Linebaugh or similar is a very good idea. I would never purchase this Puma lever in .454 Casull. But I'm agree to purcahse a lever rifle completely re-worked by a gunsmith. I can tell you that because I know a little bit the .454 Casull. And I seen the difference between 2 revolvers (Taurus RB and FA) chambered in this caliber. IMHO.

Will the ammo manufacturers now download 454 ammo so as not to blow up lever guns? H. C.

HenryC47 My understanding is that the Casull has already been downloaded from it's original format. More down loading seems a certainty.

Winchester sells a "medium" velocity load for the .454 Casull. I use them for whitetail hunting...all that's necessary.
