while scouting a piece of the grasslands,I noticed lots of sheep or goat tracks.so I started checking to see if I could see what they were! there were 12 adults and some youngsters.1 awesome ram! me, regi and matt went back to look for them I carried a bow.I saw 2 rams but could not get in close enough for a shot and it was getting dark! so we decided to try another day! Me and regi went back 9-30-04.I carried my black powder and regi carried a 12 ga. slug gun.Again I saw them first ,but I couldn't shoot one without hitting the other, then they spotted me and left! So we got back together and started combing the brush looking for them! regi and I spotted them at the same time he shot his and I shot at mine ,the cap popped but the powder didn't explode.I put on a new cap and fired again! this time the ram was boogying! the same thing happened! so I took regi's slug gun and headed after the ram.I spotted him at the same time he spotted me,he took a flying leap off of a tank dam at 80yards and I fired practically gutting him ,but he kept going! we decided to give him time to die and went back to drag regi's to a spot where we could find him later! 45 minutes later we went to find mine and he was standing in some real thick brush facing away from us! so I gave him a old fashioned Texas heart shot and he dropped! we didn't have to gut him that's for sure! now all we had to do was get them to the truck ! right at a mile away!
