I met Craig at a Houston Safari Club Meeting a couple of years ago. As stated before he is the real deal and a gentleman. I have really enjoyed his articles and books. It would be a great privelage to share a campfire with Craig anytime.

I have met Craig and he is a great "regular" guy. I enjoy his writings and I'm thankful for his service to our country. I'd be an honor to have him around my campfire. I hope he continues to come back and post.

I've known Craig for several years and have had the good fortune of hunting with him several times. He is not only one of the greatest writers of our era, but I can also say he is a good and close friend. His posts on this forum are greatly appreciated by myself and many others and I for one hope he feels welcome here and continues to contribute his vast knowledge with us all.
I have read Craigs magazine articles and have several of his books. I particularly like the books on African Big Game Rifles and American Big game rifles. They taught me a lot about rifles and calibers. I also have his book on making rifles accurate. Anytime I have a problem with a rifle I run to it for some suggestions. It has proven very helpful. I am glad that someone like Craig is around with the experience he has and the talent to put it in words. Thank you! I would be happy to run into Craig in the woods some time so that we could share stories around a campfire.

I enjoy Craig's articles very much and I am thankful for the informative part of them. Usually he tells us readers where the best trophies are coming from and gives tips about things that are needed on a certain hunt or what he would do diffrent if he were to hunt the animal again. I have hunted Worldwide but will never be able to hunt as many places as Craig, due to the expense of some hunts. I do plan on hunting in Turkey where he and Joe Bishop took those big Ibex. I would be honored to share my campfire with Craig.
In honor of you I will be toting a certain left hand .35 Whelen rifle while pursuing Roosevelt elk this fall. With a little luck I'll show you a picture that the rifle still works.
Glad to see you around and like I said earlier, I hope you're doing well.
I enjoy his writings, and being a lefty I enjoy seeing his collection of left handed rifles. Being a fellow Marine I'm sure we could find a lot to talk about around a campfire. Chalk up another fan for Craig.
I enjoy his articles. The man has alot of knowledge as far as hunting and rifles are concerned. I have actually learned alot from his articles, would like to see him stick around here and share some of his expierience's with this forum.

I am grateful for all who take time out to contribute to this forum in a meaningful way. Craig's experiences will no doubt make him a welcome contributor as well. All that aside, my greatest appreciation for him comes from his service to our country. I share that appreciation for all those who wear the uniform E-2 through O-10, especially those in a combat arena.

I doubt that Craig or anyone on these forums has any doubt as to where my loyalties lie, but just for the record: I've met him. I like him. He's a true hunter, a lover of guns, and a great Marine. I hope he will appear here from time to time although I know how busy his schedule is. Welcome Craig and I hope to see more of you.

Although I seldom post to this or any other forum, I visit here on almost a daily basis. I am always amazed by the lack of courtesy and respect shown here and on other forums by various members to both other regular members and to occasional guests like Craig, who obviously have considerable experience and wisdom to share - if only we are willing to shut up long enough to listen. Like many of the other voices ahead of me, I can't claim to have read everything that Craig has written and often don't agree with what he writes. However, he's certainly one of the best writers in the current generation of gun scribes and appears to present things in an honest light as he sees them.
Having grown up on a diet laden with O'Conner, Keith, Page, Askins, Ackley, Ruark, Hemingway, and Annabel, I won't say that Craig is the best writer that I have seen, but he's certainly in the elite group of this generation. Think how great it would be to have members of that earlier generation available to participate on a forum such as this, where members could interact personally with them on specific questions or issues. Thanks to computer technology and the net, we now have that opportunity with current experts such as Craig and with a number of gunsmiths and professional outfitters, etc. that regularly visit here. Anyone that doesn't recognize the value of such interaction and the associated contributions to our collective hunting/shooting knowledge (whether one agrees with all of the information or not) has to be considered a fool.
As said by many others, Craig would be welcome to share my campfire and biscuits anytime; I hope he visits here often.

I've read most of Craig's books, quite a few articles and have had the pleasure to meet him on two occasions. Personally I have a great amount of respect for him and especially the way he carries himself. I found him to be a pleasure to talk to and never once did he make me feel inferior to him.
It's amazing how you can speak with him at length and he always seems to make you the center of the conversation. He never once bragged about any of his exploits which I found refreshing. Bottom line is that nobody is perfect and we shouldn't expect anyone to be. Am I jealous of the man? Heck yes! Do I hold that against him? Heck no!
I have never read any of Craig's books, but I've read a lot of articles in magazines and I do enjoy the new Guns&Ammo show. So you could call me a fan I reckon. It's always nice to hear from people who you KNOW have done it and done it right. Regards,
Matt

I had the honor of meeting the Colonel thru a mutual friend at SCI-Reno this year. Colonel Boddington was most gracious and pleasant, a fine gentleman. One that would due to ride the river with. I look forward to his posts and his articles.
You know what, The fact Craig has joined us here is awesome. The fact that among the thousands of members, he has created the most posts in a short time span over any topic means he is well, a celeberty in our circle. Craig, You are probably the most welcome member on the board, 'cept for Saeed himself! Saeed, thank you for the great message board and your time and devotion to bringing a huge world together on this board.
For the record: I like Craigs work alot, I've got most of his books and use his "____ Rifle" books as reference all the time. Just last night I reread 3 chapters of "Safari Rifles", I'm trying to decied if I need a .338win or a .375H&H for my next trip to Africa. To brag a bit, last year my wife even bought me copy number 786 of "African Experience", shes a good woman
I've also had the pleasure of meeting Craig and truly enjoyed it. We meet last year on a flight from Denver to Casper, we were both going antelope hunting, and talked for over an hour. We talked about hunting antelope, the gulf war, guns and my dream of one day hunting Africa, meeting Craig was one of the high lights of my trip. I've often wanted to talk to him and tell him I got my antelope and the hunt was everything he said it would be. Like him, I'm also hooked on antelope hunting. Also Craig I made it Africa, just got back a few weeks ago and it was even better than you said it would be! So Craig, if you get a chance to read this. Thanks for all you've inspired me to do and all the help you've given me through your writing.
