Anyone try and import one from Britain or New Zealand?

They are dirt cheap there.

In the US they ain't cheap to get any way you look at it, you need to pay the ATF $200 just to own one, that doesn't count the cost of the parts and labor, and that's only if they're legal in your state.

Importing one as an individual would probably require jumping through your ass backwards three times. Or maybe I'm giving ATF too much credit.

On the other hand, some areas are very friendly to such things. The Tarrant County (Fort Worth), Texas sheriff will sign off on whatever you want as long as you are a law abiding citizen. Short barrels, silencers, full auto. He doesn't care, and his office is very professional and timely in handling the approval paperwork. So it might be easier just to move to a friendly local and buy one.
