CrazyhorseconsultingChristmas day doe.
I had been trying to catch up with a white tail doe morning and afternoon for 6 days and finally ran on to this one on Christmas morning. About a 140 yard shot thru the spine with my .35 Whelen using a 225 grain Barnes Flat Base XLC bullet.
She weighed in at 124 pounds ungutted which is a good sized doe for this area.
After I got her gutted and skinned Lora and I made aq run checking the ponds and I ended up with 4 ducks, so I had a great Christmas Day.

joesterMerry Christmas! A doe, or cow, is almost always better table fare than a buck or bull.

CrazyhorseconsultingShe still had a little milk in her udder, but she had got rid of her fawn(s) recently.
Most of this old gal goes to my two step daughters and their families.
I like taking the older does out, because they are the ones that usually seem to spook the easiest with even the slightest mistake on the hunters part.
