Condolences to the family and may they rest in peace.
A truly sad story. Target identification is so important. A few months ago, a farmer shot a small child here in SA. Apparently the farmer mistook the child for a baboon. How the f**k does a small blonde child playing in a garden look like a baboon???

A very sad result. No excuses are acceptable. (I'm curious what hunting clothes they were wearing; surely not full camo during a deer drive in heavy brush.) It will be interesting to learn what weapon was used and whether multiple shooters were involved. That kind of stupidity is going to be hard to live with for whoever fired those shots.
End of season and people anxious to get a shot off first before the "deer" get away. Whoever did this was not a hunter. A hunter would have confirmed what he (or she) was shooting at. This was just someone running around in the woods with a gun.

Lots of questions that need to be asked and answered
