Was thinking about this from another post, what would it take to remove silencers from NFA Control?

Bill passed through both houses signed by the president?

Or since this is a "Act" does it take something like 2/3rds majority?

Simple majority in both houses and a president's signature.

Don't forget, it's not just about C-O-N-T-R-O-L, it's also about M-O-N-E-Y.

$200 bucks a pop and they get to do an EXTENSIVE background check. 10 X $200 = $2000. It adds up fast.

I know several people who have multiple suppressors and they had to go through all the BS for each one...
It's about money AND control. Good luck!

We could put it in as a provision to ObamaCare with the goal to decrease the lifetime cost of hearing loss treatment for our kids. Everyone with medical insurance will be issued a silencer as part of their preventative medical treatment. We could run the campaign through youth shooting sports organizations (only for the kids sake). The bumper sticker could simply be "ssssshhhhh".

It'll never, ever happen with the clown we currently have in the whitehouse. It probably wouldn't happen even with full republican control of the federal government, because the perception is that suppressors are used by criminals, and the republicans don't want to be seen as soft on crime.

Even the pro-gun politicians are mostly clueless about guns, and the anti-gun ones are even worse.
