I am really interested in doing a Spring Black Bear hunt in Idaho in one of the 2 bear areas. My idea of a trophy is a good representative animal, in this case 2 animals, and was wondering if anyone on the AR had any experience doig this type hunt in Idaho. Even the rocks don't last forever.

I did a Fall horseback trip a few years ago with Frank and Terri Schmitz out of Whitebird Idaho. Great trip about a two hour drive then 6 miles on horseback into the National Forest. The camp is an old, hand built ranch house. Got a nice bear the first night then spent a few days trying to find a wounded bear another hunter did not put down. I would go with them again. They offer a Spring hunt as well. Spring Season is May 9-16 Contact info is: LocKey U Outfitters Inc Whitebird Summit Lodge Inc Owners Frank and Terri Schmitz Phone 208-983-1802 Fax 208-983-7517 http://www.lockeyu.com/ "Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult."
