Want to know best time(season) to hunt elk in, what is to me, a new area. Am looking at Units 21, 22 & 23 west of Rio Blanco. Which of 2nd, 3rd & 4th seasons would be best time? Why? Realize the latest season brings greater chance of snow. How deep does snow get in 4th season in these units? How likely is snow then? In what order would you prioritize the seasons- and why? Appreciate any advice anyone with knowledge of the area can provide.
