Might have an Elk Hunting opportunity in North East New Mexico. It is Private land North East of Clayton, NM. Anyone here know any thing about the area? Elk population and such? I have to move on this one pretty quck and would appreciate any info. | ||

That area is close to where we hunt...I have had fantastic luck out there with my bulls ranging from a 280 6x6 to 360 7x7. Unless the ranch and the surrounding ranches are hunted to death, you should be just fine. I would, however, dig deep for information regarding neighboring ranches, how they hunt, and how many they kill...that is the key to hunting private ranches, you want to know who your neighbors are...and, obviously what kind of pressure your ranch is putting on the elk. The smaller your ranch is, the more important that fact is.....best of luck | |||

Hank-- Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. Sounds like you have had some good ones there. This ranch is supposedly 17k acres unhunted in the last 8 years. Sounds to good to be true. | |||
