Maybe some of you can help. A buddy of mine told me last Friday that woman through his Sons Polo club that had a ranch in Wy just west of Sheridan Wy. She invited him up to hunt (she said deer, elk and pronghorn). He then asked if he could bring a friend and she said sure. Well we were at the DSC on Saturday talking to an outfitter in Wy and he said that we would need to draw for a tag. Does anyone know if this is the case for private land as well as public? If so would the best be to buy a point this year and apply for 2011? I've gone the the WY licnese sight and was more confused than before. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

you will have to draw for any tags in wyo. often alot of left over tags for private land areas. non residents easily draw in most areas

There is also a point system for nonresident tags, if you have 0 points, good chance you won't draw the first year, unless like ravenr said, it is an area with lots of private land and not much resident competition for tags.

From what I was looking at, west of Sheridan (assuming it's on the plains), you should have no trouble getting an antelope or mule deer tag. don't know about elk. Here are the web addresses that have most of the info you'd need. Just figure out what hunt area the land is in and then go to the online application page (3rd link) http://gf.state.wy.us/download...minghuntingguide.pdf http://gf.state.wy.us/wildlife...onResident/index.asp https://gf.state.wy.us/elsapplication/ELSWelcome.aspx Andy
