Hey you may have won the last battle (and indeed most of them) but the war.... Indeed we're not European (yet) in monetry matters.

Anyhow I agree with your sentiments re low mounting of scopes (my 6.5 fixed Swarovski is so low I can't use the scope cover on it) but that's not a function of who makes the scope more what size the objective.

There are some good features in Leupold scopes (reticle in second plane, price, weight) and there are some good features in German scopes (number 4 reticle, optical brilliance, reliability)someday someone will combine them all - actualy I think Swarovski just have with the AVs. Like wise rifles. One day someone will make a straightcomb, mauser actioned, drop plate, side safety, CRF, wood stocked, non iron sighted rifle with a good 2.5lb trigger. I've looked high and low for such a rifle before having it made for me. The only rifle that came close was a Heym for the American market! (and it only missed out in having a plunger ejector)

What is the deal? Are you trying to earn the title of the biggest jerk on this web site? Tone it down a little huh? I like our continental buddies. Everything on this thread was professional until your personal attacks. Get some therapy.

Jordan,

Thanks for the warm greetings from the Left Coast! Anyone who suggests therapy has usually been through many such sessions themselves. But everyone in the People's Republic of Kalifornia has a shrink, no?

Perhaps you have you been eating too many fruits and nuts and have a blockage. Or maybe the power grid is still shut down and your latte machine is stumbling so you are having an anxiety attack.

Lighten up will ya. We are all having a good time here. My wife's cousins are British, and my grandparents were born in Austria. If you cannot discern tongue-in-cheek from reality, it's time to change your scientologist.

1894:

Next time I'm in Whitburn, Tyne & Wear , I'll look you up. Let's get a couple of pints.

Jagermiester:

You must be a mole for the anti-EUs. I like you already. I promise to wear my alpine hat and use a Zeiss if we hunt to together.

Husky:

Now there's at least TWO reasons to like Sweden....
