Hello all,

I have become interested in combo guns. I come to you gentlemen for advice.

I hunt up in northern Maine and I have deer and Partridge in the same woods. I would love a combo gun that was light, (about 7lbs or less) that had either 12 gauge or 20 over anything from 7mm-08 to 300 win. I want double triggers so I have an instant choice between shot or bullet. I am not interested in some hokey trigger switch that will select what barrel fires.

I saw the picture of that Blaser 97 and it got me thinking. I know Kreighoff also makes combo guns. WHAT OTHER OPTIONS DO I HAVE.

THANKS

I bought my Blaser BBF 97 "Tracker" 12 ga over 308 from Alex Roy at Euro Optics and couldn't be happier. Mine is a "plain jane" standard grade, but I bought mine to hunt with. The rifle barrel is super accurate, and it shoots slugs, buckshot, or skeet loads equally well.

My Blaser 95 seems to work OK.
Standard grade, 7x57R/12g, now wearing a Swarovski 1.5-4.5 in the saddle mounts.

Works so well that I have ordered another 95 BBF in 22 Hornet/12g with a spare barrel set in 6.5x55/12g for my daughter to use when it's time for her first deer.

For your needs I would suggest 12g/308 or similar.

Best of luck.

Cheers, Dave.

I bought a BBF 95 in cal 30R Blaser and 12 gauge
more than ten years ago. It is very accurate . Many red stags ,fallow deer, wild boar , quail , doves and other species has fallen to its impeccable performance.
