I hunted with my Blaser 308 D 99 Duo last week.

I also had my 10 year old Nephew hunting with me.

The first afternoon I took two doe, one at @30 yards the other at @ 48 yards. Both with Winchester factory 168gr Ballistic Tips.
Both bang flops.

My Nephew shot 2 doe with the 308, one with the Remington 125 gr Managed recoil at @ 22 yards, it was a bang flop.

The second he hit a little far back with a Win 168 Ballistic Silvertip. It ran off. We waited a while and began to track it.

We jumped it, and as it ran straight away I hit in in the right ham with a Rem 125 gr Managed Recoil load. It knocked it right down, and when we walked up to it it was still alive so I shot it in the head with my Colt 45 ACP LW Commander.

I also shot a 225lb [weighed] pig at 72 yards with the 168 Winchester load. It ran about 80 yards.

My Nephew also shot 2 turkeys with 3" #6's.

One at @20 yards one at 34 yards.

I also shot a duck.

So, the 308 D 99 Duo did a great job on its first hunt afield.

And, My 10 year old Nephew has recognized the benefits of a combo gun for hunting.

A Blaser B 97 in 308 and 20ga may be in his immediate future.

The meat went home with the nephew Big Grin
He and his mom and sister love game meat. Cool

A few days ago he killed a wild pig with my Blaser R 93 in 308.

However I did use my 308 D 99 Duo to take a wild pig at the Blaser Fest hunt in South Texas.

The B 97 in 308/20ga 3" with the short barrels is on order.

My 9,3x74R D 99 Duo weighs 8.65 lbs.

With a 1.5-6x42 Swarovski in the Blaser mount it weighs 10.40 lbs.

The Duo,s handle very well.

You can adjust the lower left 9,3 barrel to hit with the upper 9,3 bbl with what ever load you choose.

The last time I shot mine at 100 yards the shots from the two rifle bbls hit less than one inch apart.

With Brenneke 3" 20ga slugs it is a near one holer at 50 yards.

The 308 Duo shoots just as good.

NUTS! I had a chance to buy one for a song last year, but I didn't have a "note", let alone the song. Frowner I think I know what I'll be selling and buying soon. These are a fantastic hunting machine, IMO.

I have a D99 Duo in 308 and one in 9,3x74R.
I have also shot Aleko's [of Heritage Arms], 9,3 duo and his 308 D99 Drilling.

All of them shoot better than most bolt rifles.

Their accuracy is unbelievable.

They have become some of my most favorite hunting rifles.

You know I am a double rifle freek... and I love having the 20ga shotgun barrel "along" as I really enjoy killing small game for the pot.

[I would much rather have 500 lbs of grouse than 500 lbs of elk meat.]
I love to eat rabbits, squirrel, ducks, and quail, so having a double rifle AND a shotgun works great for me.

Next time I go to Zimbabwe I will take the 9,3 Duo instead of my Chapuis [and I love my 9,3 Chapuis], as I plan to eat guinea fowl every night. Big Grin clap thumb

...and you need to take me along to field test the Duo, as I may want one. wave

I have kicked myself for the last year, as I was offered one that had a whopping 10 rounds total through is...5 each barrel...for $4,400.00, and it had scope rings but no scope. I balked...it walked. Frowner CRYBABY

And, I prefer francolin to guinea, and either to most everything else. dancing

Hard to argue with a drilling as a good choice for all around hunting.
