I took my 16/6.3 O/U to my regular gunsmith, because it doesn't fire LR primers regularly. I've been using large pistol primers ever since I got it and just reached my limit on putting up with it. I was hoping to have him either retemper or make me a new spring for the rifle barrel. He also noted that my spindle return spring was broken. He told me he doesn't make springs and suggested I find a smith who does this on a regular basis. I'm sure that New England, JJ, and PISCO would do it, but I was wondering if there might not be an up and coming young fellow or two out there that might do this work. My theory is that they won't get good if we don't give them some work. Any suggestions.
