I recently met a fellow who had a Merkel drilling with 2 sets of barrels, 9.3x74RX9.3X74RX20 and another set 20X20X9.3X74R. All I can say is, what a nice combo and that I put one on my own wish list

30R
That is one nice set up.

I did buy myself a drilling. I found a Sauer 3000 in new condition in 12x12x30-06.

The first weekend I hunted with it I took 2 wild pigs and 3 turkeys. thumb Smiler

I then had JJ Perodeau at Champlins fit a S&B 1.1-4 scope in claw mounts.

My 30-06 bbl shoots very good, the claw mounts go back to zero 100%.

I went with the 30-06 as I wanted to take it to Africa along with my 9,3x74R Chapuis and you cannot take more than one rifle in the same calibre.
Also I needed it "now" as i had my trip date already set.

I really like the Sauer drilling, it handles real well.

What I "need" now is a Double Rifle Drilling, for use in Idaho and Alaska, and on my next Safari.
