For a number of years I have had the dream of having a specific small game drilling. Requirements were a light alloy (dural) frame, longer barrels in 16 or 20 gauge, and a rifle barrel with the flexibility to shoot fox to hoofed game. My vision was to have an English stock on the gun to my measurements. Well, I found the gun, got the wood and work should begin shortly...the goal being to be afield with the gun come next fall.

The gun is a 1973 Dural drilling from A W Wolf in Suhl 16/70 over 7 x 65R (pretty much a 280 equivalent).

Gun has 65cm barrels (25.6 in) which is unusual in dural drillings. It has a 22 hornet full length barreled insert and an S and B 2.5-10 x 50 scope on claw mounts. Had minor work on the safety done and the action was minimally loose so had that tightened..barrels were reblued and the stock work starts next month. The original stock will also be refinished. Hope to post pictures of the work in progress.

I have allways liked the idea of a really light drilling in small cals. A friend of mine has a 7x57R Merkel drilling that would be perfect with an einstucklauf .22 Hornet.
I really thought hard about getting one of those light drillings but I keep reminding myself that I have a 6.5x57 BBF and a .222 BBF ether will serve me well when I want a light combo gun.

30R,

one of those dreams, and you have realized it.
The "Waldläufer" is very rare in the used gun market, I try to find one since years.
From TJF the Waldläufer and the "Büschflintenwaldläufer"
(2 different riflebarrels) are a class of its own. In prices too.
