More specifically the lug. I have one of the older models, both barrels connected along their length, .22 over 20ga. Sometime in the past the underlug came loose and some un-named gunbutcher did a terrible job of brazing it back on, now the gun is off face. I need the lug put back on properly. I called Savage, I knew they wouldn't touch it but they gave me some leads that haven't panned out. Apparently there was a jig needed to properly locate the lug. Nice old gun, like to see it put right, anyone have some ideas? | ||

Sorry to say this but a real gunsmith who can do this will cost you far more than the little combo is worth. It can be done, but as I say the cost will not be cheap, and not even some very knowledgable gunsmiths do not understand the process. Sorry! I have one just like yours, and I just took it out of the safe, and found the front sight has been knocked off. That is not as hard to take care of as your LUMP (lug) re-positioning!
