Attached are photos of a neat way to mount a scope on a side by side. The rib is cut away and a base is glued or soldered in place. The scope mount clamps onto the base and there is a recoil stop at the front of the base. A second base is shown for clarity.

Nice base that is almost exactly what I did on one of my Zoli combinations 12/6.5x57R.The difference is I made it to fit over the raised rib behind the folding rear sight screwed to the rib.It works beautifully.
