My brother just purchased another Sauer drilling I can not identified. It has a lever that cocks the rifle mode in the left side that runs between the two triggers, and its caliber is 12/12 30-30. It has a trap in the butt for the rifle cartridges and also has a peep sight behind the safety along another iron sight folded in the rib. Its just like the one pictured in this page : http://www.learmes.com/J.P.%20Sauer1.html.
What can you tell me about it?

I have seen a couple of drillings that looked and operated like that.
They were imported by Charles Daly. They too were 12x12x30-30.

I asked my gunsmith. This type of drilling was produced by Sauer for the export to the US.
Before WW1 and between the wars. This drilling was very popular and Sauer exoprted a lot of this drillings. The price on the website is pretty high, but in 30-30 in Europe a drilling is hard to find.

Thanks for your prompt response. Do you know the model name for it?

You might also remember that at that time in Europe the 30/30 was called the 7.62x51R, and some of the drilling I have seen were marked as such.

Cheers, Dave.
