Hi: I asked same question on Nitro Express. What is your favorite combination gun?I have owned a Savage 24 not very accurate. I now have a Brno series 300 and it is accurate. So what do you say? Regards Dan

Hi
I had a tikka model 69(forrunner of m70) in 12/222 rem . that gun with 222 remington barrel was very accurate a real tack driver, but my son wanted that and i gave it to him. any way i wanted the rifle barrel in larger caliber at least 7x57R. bought a savage 24 with camo stock and in 3030/12 , but the shotgun barrel shoot a foot lower and many inches to the left Frowner ,but rifle barrel was accurate with hanloads. i sold it. now the only combo i have is a springfield m6 in 22LR/410 which i like it a lot rifle barrel is very accurate and it keeps my garden free from rodents and other varmints.
regards

The CZ's and BRNO's are good value and will serve well, but my favourite is the Blaser 95 BBF.
Having said that, there is a Sauer Drilling in 12/12/7x57R that I would like... Wink

Cheers, Dave.

I have three Savage 24s. A 24C camper's special, an older .22 magnum/20 (Pennsylvania turkey gun), and
a 24V (was .223/20, now 6x45mm/20). The 6x45mm has 9.5:1 rifling to stabilize heavier bullets, a Weaver 2-7X in quick-release mounts, and a homemade peep sight forward of the scope mounts with an aperture big enough to follow a flying duck. By happy accident, after the reboring job the rifle and shotgun shoot almost the same point of aim. The other two have Williams 5D peep sights, much better than open sights for my eyes.

The camper's special is just the handiest little thing (replaced an AR-7), and the .22 magnum was my first gun so a little sentimental. I plan to use the 24V this fall in Wyoming, at a spot with both grouse and antelope present.

If I had the money, I'd want the original Krieghoff Ultra 20, a nice .243/20. The Savage gives up quite a few feet per second on the rifle barrel against the .243, don't know much about the accuracy of the Krieghoff.

I had a Savage in .222/20 ga, but I like the CZ 584 I now have better. It is 12/7x57R and very, very accurate with the rifle barrel.

The wild one´s,

I still can´t belive that any one would buy or use one of those things, at least not to hunt with, true tomato stalks

still to each his own.

Best regards Chris

My favourite of the three I have had is a Browning-Miroku Mod. 7500 on the Type III Citori action. It is a .308W.x12Ga. with Invector chokes, has excellent irons, a "jackscrew partially free-floating bbl and I have CZ-RF mounts with a Leupy 2.5C scope on it.

It is VERy accurate, has the best extractor system I have yet seen on any combo gun and has ejectors. It functions flawlessly with bolt action level .308 loads and is light, well-balanced and, IMHO, a BETTER gun, overall, than my customized Merkel 96 drilling in 12-12-9.3x74R.

I paid just under two grand for it in 1989 and value it now at $3500.00, but, it is among the very last guns I would sell. Too bad that these were not continued as with a pair of crf .338WM rifles plus this, I am set for ANY BC hunting.
