300 win in a combo. If the gun is durable enough why not. But look at the 30R Blaser. Its close to the 300 win and its rimmed.

That will work fine. A freind of mine has one. His is a 2 barrel set from Ferlach and 1 barrel is 20ga and .300 win and the other is ,458 and 20ga
.300 win has been a popular round in Ferlach and if you shop around you might just find what your looking for.
If I were building one new I would go with the .30 Blaser but the .300 will work fine

30R Blaser or 7,62x68 R. The R in all German cartiges is for "Rand" = rimmed.

The 30R Blaser has become the most popular .300 caliber in break actions in the Blaser production. Its close to the 300 win - and its rimmed. many hunters, like me, say "in break actions only rimmed cartridges".

This is a picture of several cartridges from the Merkel web-site. The 30/Blazer is one of the most popular cartridges, for double rifles, and combos under the 9.3X74R. thumb

IMO, it is a mistake to chamber a rimless cartridge in a break top double rifle, or combo, if a decent rimmed cartridge is available, especially if the rifle is to be used for anything that bites back, and is big, and mean enough that a fast reload may be necessary! beer

I have a 12ga 3"/9,3X74R combo with a second set of 9,3X74R Lothar Walther barrels. It may be for sale. Oh, and it is DT, not SST. The 9,3X74R o/u set has ejectors.

You have my phone number...

Bruce-

Send me some pics. You know I love those 9,3s. Do you still have the Chapuis?

What I've realy been looking for is a Winchester 101 Euro in 12 & 9.3.

Or a Merkel in a divorce sale.

The Chapuis is in France, getting a set of 20ga 27" IC & IM barrels and a different butt stock.

The 12/9,3X74R set is a simple Tikka 512S in 12 over 9,3 and a NEW set of 9,3 o/u barrels, just arrived and fitted. These things shoot much better than any of the various pedigree 9,3s I've owned. Do you have any plans to get up north soon? I'd let you shoot the set.

I drew an elk and deer tag this year!!

I have a Valmet 412 in 12ga/30-06 that would be a good candidate for the conversion, and believe it or not, it is FOR SALE. Wink Wink
