Anyone here taken one over?

Are there countries where for whatever reason combination guns aren't allowed?

I've used several of mine in Zim, RSA, and Tanz and was glad I took them. I also used a 12/9.3X74R BBF in Zim and Tanz. It had a second set of 9.3X74R o/u barrels.

If you have one in 16 or 12ga with a scope and in a decent rifle round, by all means take it! Wink

Back in the '70's Krieghoff was experimenting with a BBF with an interchangeable rifle barrel feature. By loosening a screw under the monoblock, the rifle barrel could be removed and replaced with another barrel of a different caliber.

I took such a BBF in caliber 12 ga./.30-'06, with an interchangeable barrel in .222 Remington. The .30-'06 barrel accounted for several head of plains game, including a wildebeest, and the .222 barrel was very useful in taking a klipspringer off a high cliff.

I was recently told you cannot import smoothbores for hunting in Zambia hence the thread.

Who are you hunting with in September Tom?
